Custom software development

Built for the way
your people work.

Give staff and customers an application that fits the job. We design and build web applications, field tools and operational systems around your processes, information and existing software.

An early idea is enough to start a conversation.

Custom software

When the spreadsheet
has outgrown its job.

Manual handovers, duplicated records and awkward workarounds can be signs that your tools no longer fit. We help identify the part of the process that needs to change and build software around the people doing the work, from a focused internal application to a larger business platform.

Business and field applications

Business and field applications

Manage bookings, inspections, dispatch, approvals and everyday administration in one application. Design the experience for the device and environment where it will be used, including field connectivity requirements.

Customer portals and platforms

Customer portals and platforms

Let customers submit information, track progress or access the services you provide. Connect their experience to the records and workflows your team uses so information does not have to be copied between the two.

Modernisation and ongoing support

Modernisation and ongoing support

Improve an established application in manageable stages. Review its architecture, plan data migration and introduce new capabilities with documentation, support and the existing operation in mind.

How we work

From the first workflow
to a working system.

You work directly with experienced engineers. We start by understanding who uses the software, the decisions they make and how information moves through your business. The scope follows those needs, with working software reviewed along the way.

  1. Understand the operating requirements

Walk through the current process, its exceptions and the systems involved. Identify user roles, access needs, reporting requirements and what a successful first release should change.

  2. Connect to the rest of the business

Assess integrations with accounting, ERP, existing databases and equipment. Plan the data flow and responsibilities before building the connections.

  3. Prepare for delivery and support

Check the application with representative users and data, plan the release and handover, and agree how maintenance and future improvements will be handled.

Our own products show the kinds of operational software we build and look after. Tetrascale connects weighbridge operations and business systems. CrimsonKit supports inventory and asset management. Ride Hatch helps amusement operators and event hosts manage safety documentation.

Before we start

A few common questions.

Can you improve an existing application?

Yes. We can review the current software, identify the most useful improvements and assess whether to extend it, modernise parts of it or build a replacement in stages.

Can the application work on phones and tablets?

Yes. We design for the devices people use. If work happens in areas with unreliable connectivity, we assess what needs to work offline and how records should synchronise.

How do we start without a detailed specification?

Tell us what your team does and where the current tools get in the way. We can work through the workflow together and define a practical scope.
